It's time once again for the Untried A-Z Challenge, this time around is the letter C. I hope you've been enjoying this challenge as much as I have. It's been great to see so many people join in but there is always room for more. Feel free to check out the event on facebook and see if it will work for you.
I'm sharing another polish from Sally Hansen but this time from the Extreme Wear line. I know I know I should be mixing it up with my polish brands but if you remember from my 2018 goals post, one of my goals is to work through my untried polishes with a focus on the mainstreams. Don't worry I'll get back around to some indies polishes soon. But in the meantime let's take a look at Sally Hansen Coin Flip.
Coin Flip is a pale bronze metallic polish with a golden shimmer. I must have had a thing for metallic golden bronze polishes back in 2014 when I went on a polish purchasing spree because I have a lot of them in my helmer. As proven by my letter B post from a few weeks ago.
The application of Coin Flip was typical. I had smooth and even application but this polish is a bit sheer on the first coat. Thankfully this polish builds up nicely and full opacity can be reached after two coats. Unfortunately, like most metallic polishes this one suffers from brushstrokes. I recently had a tip shared with me on how to avoid the brushstrokes and I'd like to pass it along to you. The secret is to sponge on the second layer for a more even surface. I haven't tried it yet but you can bet I will the next time I wear a shimmer or metallic finish nail polish.
This is a color that I really like but not a polish I will probably wear again. I have so many colors like this in my collection that I need to give them all a chance.Plus I typically can get a lot of the polishes from this line to work for stamping but I think this one is too sheer to work for that. Now that I've shown you my C polish let's see what other people have chosen. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Polishing!
