Without question, this has to be one of the most boring sets in the history of baseball cards. Not only are the gray borders ugly, but they have made it almost impossible to find these cards in decent condition at a reasonable price. So much so that I don't even look for them in anything less than poor condition.
Topps issued this set in seven series, with the last series being the only one that has a real premium over the other six. Of course, Al Kaline is in the final series, so I'm guessing a good condition card of his goes for a pretty penny. But I'll never know....
In the days before free agency though, this set still contains a large number of heroes from the '68 team, so it's not all that bad.
