Hi girls,
This Saturday, I went to the Lifestyle stores for my Karwachauth shopping and spotted some new shades in the Colorbar Velvet Matte range. “Raise Ur Glass” is one more shade from that haul. I had some expectations from it, but after using, “Glancing Stare,” I don’t know what to say anymore.

My Experience with Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Raise Ur Glass:
The color is brilliant, it is a deep rust and brick red, and the pigments are really strong. It comes out as a red shade but with strong bright tones. It is on the warm side, so perfect for Indian skin tones. I find this shade a little mature and bold, but I personally love this sort of a red rather than a pinkish-red lipstick.
I would not say this lipstick is velvety or matte, it is slightly hard to swipe on the lips but much better than “Glancing Stare” lipstick. The pigment is better too and two coats give me a thick red layer.
I have noticed that these lipsticks from the velvet matte range look and feel like a stain after a while rather than feeling like a creamy lipstick. They just cling on to the lips and hardly transfer for the same reason.
“Raise Ur Glass” looks like a red stain and is not exactly matte, but it looks very pretty. I don’t think dry lips will like it since it feels slightly draggy and it is not a moisturising lipstick for sure. The packaging is exactly the same as the earlier range, I wish they had added some colourful name labels to it.
The bullet shape now matches the matte touch lipstick rather than the regular velvet matte ones. If you have used the previous velvet mattes, you know how they just convert into a lip stain in a bright pink in some time. This has always been a problem with Colorbar lipsticks – they stain a bright pink, no matte what shade you have used. The staining problem with this one is slightly less, but it does stain a deep red on my lips. It is much better than having a hot pink stain though – this time, it looks like a mix of red and pink stain with this brick red shade of “Raise Ur Glass.”
Pros of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Raise Ur Glass:
- Beautiful deep brick red shade.
- Warm color for Indian skin tones.
- Nice packaging and bullet shape.
- Priced affordably.
- Lasts many hours like a red stain.
- Very strongly pigmented.
- Two coats are enough for a bold mouth.
Cons of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Raise Ur Glass:
- There’s no change from the earlier velvet matte packaging.
- Leaves a reddish pink stain.
- Feels like a stain, not like a lipstick.
- Not creamy, you might have to drag it a bit initially.
- Not moisturising at all for dry lips.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Raise Ur Glass?
I have bought some other new shades, so let us hope for the best. I am in love with this bold deep red for the season. I know there is nothing creamy or out of the box about this one, but I am recommending this lipstick for its color. Do try it if you do not have dry lips.
