Keith Richards, guitarists of the legendary American rock group, Rolling Stones dissed rap music in a recent interview. He said all rap is about is somebody yelling over drums and he doesn't understand why so many people like the art form.
Below are his words.
“What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there. All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.” (New York Daily News Interview)
What do you think? This reminds me one day when my Mom (in her late 50s at the time) walked into my room and asked what exactly i enjoyed in listening to this music where people just talk over a beat. lol! She didn't understand that it was actually an art, and the art of rapping really isn't as easy as people think. She also didn't understand the amazing use of word, breath-taking stories told by some rappers. I guess this is the same case with this man.
