Manager Braun and his wife Yael are hosting a $2,700 per-plate fundraiser for Hillary Clinton on 6 Aug (16) at their home in Los Angeles, reports Variety. The promoter allegedly assured Justin's people the event was "not political" and that Justin would not be endorsing Trump or any GOP policies.
When Justin's people got into touch with LeBron's people about the convention and performance, it's being reported that LeBron's group said he wouldn't be in the area for the convention.
Record label boss Scooter was keen for Bieber to erect Black Lives Matter signs at the show - a bid reportedly rejected by the donors, who suggested the alternative All Lives Matter. In 2012, Republicans offered Lady Gaga $1 million to perform for their convention in Tampa, according to a lawsuit American Action Network filed against an RNC vendor who failed to secure Mother Monster.
Justin Bieber could have been $5 million richer last week, and all it would have cost him was 45 minutes worth of a performance.
Even worse, the promoters putting it all together claimed to the goal star that LeBron James was attending an event in Cleveland around the RNC, but wasn't taking a political stand about it, either. But Braun made it clear that if Bieber accepted the offer, he would no longer represent him.
The Republican National Convention took place between July 18, and 21, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Bieber's band also reportedly did not want to perform in Cleveland.
According to TMZ.com, Bieber turned the donors down only after his agent - Scooter Braun - threatened to resign. Organizers declined this request, telling the Canadian that he could bring "All Lives Matter" alternatives, to which Justin's camp blatantly refused.
